The cottage with accommodation all on the ground-floor level, provides a warm and welcoming environment whatever the time of the year. In winter, the wood burner and in the summer the delightful enclosed garden add to its charm. Langwathby is in the beautiful and peaceful Eden Valley, within easy reach of the M6 and the town of Penrith. There are many walks and attractions in the immediate vicinity. The station is on the famous Settle to Carlisle railway making the cottage ideal for those who do not have their own transport. Unusually so for this day and age, the village retains a store and a post office both of which can be found just a short walk from the property. An inn is just 100 metres from the cottage. Edenhall village is very picturesque and only a mile from the cottage. Slightly further afield is the village bakery at Melmerby, with a lovely cafe serving organic products. Little Salkeld has another organic cafe at the working watermill. The Eden Valley provides excellent walking and cycling and is only 8 miles from Ullswater in the Lake District and within easy reach of the Northern Pennines, Yorkshire Dales and the Scottish Borders. National Trust Property, Acorn Gardens is close by as is Lowther Castle with beautiful grounds and recently reopened lost gardens. For those wishing for a more challenging environment the mighty peaks of High Street, Helvellyn and Blencathra are all within 25 minutes drive. Head up the communal stairs to the second floor and youll find the kitchen, king-size bedroom and shower room, whilst the dining room and living room can be found on the third floor - really making the most of the stunning views on offer. Penrith is an historic market town with a great selection of shops and eateries. The ruins of Penrith Castle are sure to intrigue history fans, as is the Penrith Museum and Tourist Centre in the middle of town. A walk up to Penrith Beacon is a must for stunning views over the area. Visit Brougham Castle, once written about by Lakes poet William Wordsworth, and the historic houses at Dalemain and Hutton-in-the-Forest, or treat yourselves to a spa day at the North Lakes Hotel.
