The lounge has comfy seating for relaxing, there is ample room at the table for eating or poring over a map whilst you plan the next adventure, and the kitchen is well equipped. On the same floor, there is a double bedroom with gorgeous countryside views and a shower room. Outside, a private patio offers a lovely spot for al fresco dining against a backdrop of unbridled countryside. Whatever your sport, there will be something for you nearby, with walking and cycling routes on your doorstep, canoeing on the River Wye and climbing and caving in nearby Castleton (12.5 miles). The biggest town in the national park, Bakewell, which is also famous for its pudding, is only 1.5 miles away and is the start of the Monsal Trail, an 8.5-mile traffic-free walking route. If you’re in need of a ‘rest day’, enjoy a less strenuous stroll at Chatsworth House (5 miles) or wander around spa town Buxton (11 miles).
