Of course, there is also all the crockery and cookware youll need for a family gathering. Moving back through the dining area to the elegant downstairs living room. Its a delightfully comfortable room with two deep sumptuous sofas arranged around a wood burner and large curved Smart TV with Sky. The owners have thoughtfully left a well-stocked bookcase with books for all ages, stargazing guides, mAgazines and games to keep you entertained and there is a lovely writing desk looking up the valley; quite the inspirational spot for postcard writing! Or, if you need to catch up on a bit of work here, theres high speed Wi-Fi to keep you going! There is also a handy downstairs WC just off the living area with drying space for wet bits and bobs. Ascending to the first-floor guests are greeted by the stunning upstairs living area. Another beautifully designed space, it has a comfy sofa, Smart TV with Sky and an elegant Charles Eames style armchair, which is definitely the seat to commandeer as your own! This, being a second lounge, could be described as a snug but that doesnt quite do it justice! The curved panoramic windows really make the most of the uninterrupted views up to the head of the valley. The owners have left binoculars for you to spot the local wildlife and scan the fell tops. Its also the most stunning room for stargazing in Ennerdales wonderful dark skies on clear nights. Here, you will also find a games console along with a excellent library of movies and games. The four elegant bedrooms are all on the first floor and all include John Lewis Natural Collection beds and mattresses, luxury bed linen and professional hairdryers. The master bedroom has wonderful dual aspect views, a gorgeous king size, upholstered bed frame, a hanging rail and dresser for storage and an en-suite shower room. The shower has a large walk-in enclosure with mixer shower and large drencher head. The second bedroom has super-king, upholstered, zip-and-link bed which can be made up as a twin should you require (please advise on booking). The room has a large wardrobe and chest of drawers, more stunning views up the valley and another beautifully appointed en-suite shower room. The triple room has double under/single over bunk bed and hanging hooks. please note this bedroom will only be made up as a double. The single room is a magical space for a younger member of the party to commandeer. It has a dresser and a view over the gardens towards the village. The family bathroom is also on the first floor and has a heat-retaining Carronite bath. Outside the house there is a large enclosed garden with huge lawns for cartwheeling to your hearts content. Theres also a south-facing patio and outdoor dining furniture benefiting from fabulous evening sun. Just the job for dining alfresco. Bikes can be stored in a lockable shed. There is a large gated driveway for up to two cars as well as private parking for a further four cars on the drive to the side of the property.

From here, strike out straight from the cottage on hikes across the fells to nearby beauty spots. Walk 1.5 miles to see the famous Aira Force Waterfall or 2 miles down to the shores of the lake. Follow the 20-mile route that goes all the way around beautiful Ullswater. Find cafes and pubs in Glenridding, 4.5 miles away, or Pooley Bridge, 6.5 miles away, when you want to eat out. Open the door on to this substantial abode, store shoes and jackets in the porch, and make your way through into the open-plan lounge/diner. Stoke up the wood burner, then settle down to watch your favourite programme on TV, or a DVD, in its cosy glow. Take three steps up into the kitchen to make everyone a cup of tea and cut them a slice of cake that you can pick up from the tea shop in Pooley Bridge. Whip up a tasty meal in here too with the other produce you have bought, then serve it up later at the splendid table next door.
