The accommodation is laid out over the first and second floors of the building. Inside on the first floor youll find a sociable open-plan kitchen/living/dining area, along with a bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen is fully fitted with a washer/dryer, dishwasher, separate fridge freezer and microwave, as well as a full convection hob and oven. The dining table can seat six people bench-style or with the option of chairs for four people. The two further bedrooms and a second bathroom are upstairs on the second floor, both double rooms in size; the master bedroom with its super-king bed may be split into two singles on request. Remote control colour televisions are mounted in the lounge and both double bedrooms. There is also a wonderful private balcony with views over the River Leven which enjoys full morning sunshine, two designated parking spaces and access to a shared lockup for storing bikes. A tunnel under the road allows you to walk from the apartment into the village. Backbarrow enjoys a position on the banks of the River Leven and clues to this areas industrial heritage can be found all around. The ironworks itself is the site of the oldest ironworks ancient monument in the country, bordered by the River Leven on one side and Haverthwaite Heights to the rear. There are scenic walks from the front door down the river or onto the heights (great if you have a dog) which has stunning views across the Morecambe Bay a short walk away. Follow the river through the village to the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, built to transport coal and iron inland from the coast, now a popular tourist attraction where the trains take you through scenic countryside to Lakeside, at the south end of Lake Windermere and a boat journey on to bustling Bowness-on-Windermere. Another great attraction on the doorstep is the Lakeland Motor Museum. It makes a fascinating way to spend the day and has an excellent riverside cafe for breakfast and lunch with a view. Close to the southern tip of Lake Windermere, why not spend a day exploring here? Make your way up to your apartment via the exterior steps and enter to find sun-soaked accommodation. From the hall, wander through to the light lounge/diner to look out over the water. Settle on the comfortable seating in front of the TV or pull a chair up to the table and enjoy a cup of tea. Take a step down into the kitchen/diner when it is time to prepare the next home-cooked meal.
