The open-plan lounge/diner/kitchen has a double-height ceiling, with an open fire in a feature roof-height brick chimney in the comfortable lounge area, slightly off to the side and with access to outside. There’s room for all of you at the modern dining table which is next to another external door and also adjoins the contemporary kitchen which has all mod cons. You’re sure to sleep soundly in the wonderfully calm king-size bedroom with light decor and furnishings. The remaining bedroom is a triple with bunks and an extra single. Outside you have a private furnished patio with hot tub sheltered by a wooden gazebo, plus shared lawns. There’s plenty to keep you occupied here. There’s even a pub within 500 metres for those nights when you don’t want to cook. The River Lynher runs past too, so wander its banks looking out for wildlife. It’s an excellent base for touring Cornwall, both inland and along its rugged coastline. The National Trust has offerings in the area: Antony, an 18th-century house in landscaped gardens (13miles); and the Tudor house and impressive estate of Cotehele (9 miles).
