Hawthorn Cottage is a dog friendly holiday cottage from Toad Hall Cottages
Hawthorn, the latest addition to our cottages in Buckland Court, South Devon offers guests comfortable accommodation and easy access to the coast and the pretty village of Slapton. Buckland Court is nestled deep in delightful South Hams countryside, 1.5 miles from the historic village of Slapton with its world famous nature reserve, 3 mile beach and excellent real ale pubs. Dartmouth and Kingsbridge are within 15 minutes drive, both with interesting shops, fine restaurants, boat trips, sailing and much more. Totnes, a quaint Elizabethan town is 9 miles away and Dartmoor, with wonderful walking and spectacular scenery is within easy reach. Buckland Court is well situated for a wide range of indoor and outdoor pursuits including golf. A gate from the courtyard opens out to a sweep of grass and orchard (1.5 acres) including a large pond populated by ducks. There is a built in barbecue with picnic benches where guests can relax and young people can play outdoor games and a children's adventure playhouse on stilts with a slide and a pool table/tennis table in the laundry room for those rainy days.

Hawthorn Cottage:
Tucked away in a quiet corner, with windows looking out onto the courtyard Hawthorn is a contemporary and spacious cottage offering comfortable accommodation for up to 5 guests. The attractive living room has been refurbished by the new owners using fresh fabrics and colours and stairs lead up to three comfortable bedrooms.
Accommodation:
Stable door to open plan living room with the seating area furnished with two sofas surrounding a gas fire, ideal for those chilly spring and autumn evenings. TV with DVD and CD/radio. Dining area with table and 6 chairs. Modern kitchen with gas hob, integrated oven and separate microwave, fridge with icebox. Stairs to first floor and double bedroom with 4ft 6in double bed. Twin room with Velux window and two 3ft beds. Single with 3ft bed. Family bathroom with bath, shower over, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail.
Outside:
An archway in the corner of the lower courtyard (separated by a substantial gate) opens out to a large pond populated by ducks and a sweep of grass and orchard (1.5 acres) including a built in barbecue with picnic benches where guests can relax and young people can play outdoor games as well as a new children's adventure playhouse on stilts with a slide.
Parking: Car parking in the drive, not in the lower courtyard except for loading and unloading.

The cottages are very comfortable and well furnished and set around a pretty courtyard with summer hanging baskets and benches. The kitchens are well equipped with gas hobs, cooker extractor hoods, built-under ovens, fridges and microwaves. All beds are standard size (4ft 6in doubles, 3ft singles). The bathrooms all have a shower over the bath, hand basin and WC. All cottages have central heating, a gas fire in the living area and are equipped with iron and ironing board. There is a large communal laundry room with coin operated washing machine, dryer and freezer. There is a large range of local information and in season a small incubator, who knows what you might see hatch during your stay! Water is supplied through filtered and tested borehole water.
