Wooler, often known as "The Gateway to The Cheviots," is a charming town with a variety of lodging options and dining establishments that makes it the ideal starting point for trips around Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. A short drive from the historic town of Alnwick with its renowned Castle and Gardens and the well-preserved Garrison town of Berwick-upon-Tweed is Wooler, which is located on the fringe of the Northumberland National Park. A short journey will also take you to Chillingham Castle, home to an illustrious herd of wild white cattle, and Coldstream, located just outside the Scottish border.
