On the south coast of Devon, in the protected curve of Bigbury Bay, is the charming and undeveloped settlement of Hope Cove. The two beaches are a popular holiday spot for families, offering soft sand and rock pools for constructing sandcastles and fishing for little crabs. The settlement was originally used by smugglers, but it is now a fishing community where crabs and lobsters are still landed. The area's coastline has seen numerous shipwrecks go down, making it a popular diving location. There are several bars and restaurants located over the beach. From here, one may access the coastal walk, which travels in two directions, one to Salcombe and the other to Bigbury-on-Sea.

Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
