Belford, a picturesque village in Northumberland, is conveniently located between the two popular walled towns of Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed, both of which are World Heritage sites. Traveling along the coast will bring you to the picturesque village of Bamburgh, known for its expansive beaches and dramatic castle. Belford is a quaint old coaching village that centres around a lovely town square and features numerous cafes, restaurants, and boutiques. It is in a perfect location from which to explore the Scottish Borders, the Cheviot Hills, the Northumberland Coast, and the Northumbrian Coastal Route. There are daily boat trips departing from Seahouses, so you can see the famous Farne Islands and their bird sanctuary and seal colony. You could also see the historic Lindisfarne Priory on Holy Island if you time your crossing there correctly.
