Newtonmore's Wildcat Trail is a popular 7-mile circular walk around the village, taking in the River Spey, woodland, moorland, and views of the Cairngorms and Monadhliath Mountains - a fitting introduction to the National Park. The Folk Park, Kincraig Wildlife Park, Landmark at Carrbridge, and Steam Railway are popular with kids. Golf, fishing, pony trekking, walking, birdwatching, cycling, mountain biking, climbing, and skiing are all available in the area, making it an ideal base for exploring this scenic part of Scotland.
