The main street has shops, restaurants, pubs, banks, and a town hall. Behind the main street is a pool and leisure centre. Loftus lies near Runswick Bay and Staithes, a popular artist destination. Saltburn, 4 miles north, is an exquisite spa town with a golf club and lengthy pier. North Yorkshire Moors and Jurassic fossil coast are nearby.
