North of Okehampton are beautiful rolling Devon hills with small farming villages nestled among woods and fields and rivers. The fabulous Roadford Reservoir offers a variety of watersports and fishing. Also in Okehampton is the Museum of Dartmoor Life (where Tourist Information is) and Okehampton train station, which has been restored to 1950s glory, running trains along a scenic route to Meldon, southern England's highest station.

Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
