Builth Wells (Welsh spelling: Llanfair-ym-Muallt) is a market town in lovely, unspoiled countryside that makes an interesting location for a Mid-Wales vacation. This area is perfect for walking, pony trekking, and mountain biking and is home to numerous unique craft stores and collectors' fairs. The town has an 18-hole golf course, a sports centre, and the Wyeside Arts Centre, which has a cinema and various live performances. The Royal Welsh Showground, located across the River Wye, is home to the famous Royal Welsh Show, which brings an explosion of colour to the town every July, as well as a variety of other events throughout the year.
