Please be mindful that the steps are steep and no smoking is accepted. Within 2.4 miles there is a shop, within 0.1 miles, a pub and within 0.3 miles, a beach. Shippen makes a delightsome escape to the coast of Devon.
Marlborough is a charming community with many thatched homes, a village shop, two great country pubs, and a flourishing post office. It is about 2 miles from Salcombe, the southernmost town in the South Hams, which is a popular sailing destination. Salcombe, with its lovely, gorgeous coastline, is great for sailing, watersports, coastal walking, or simply soaking up the sun. Observe the abundant wildlife in the region, visit numerous nearby country estates and gardens, or travel to Kingsbridge, a charming market town.
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
