North Shields, in the county of Tyne and Wear, is a beautiful town located near the Tyne's mouth. It is situated between the Newcastle and Tynemouth. A statue of a solitary fisherman was erected in 2017 to honour the town's history as a bustling fishing port, which dates back to the 13th century and can be learned more about at the small Old Low Light museum. The town is in a great spot, near the sandy shores of Long Sand Beach, where sightseers can take in breath-taking vistas of the North Sea and the bustling city of Newcastle. Those who venture into the city of Newcastle will find a plethora of interesting and exciting bars and restaurants, as well as a wealth of shopping options and tourist attractions like the Discovery Museum, the Life Science Centre, Newcastle Castle, and the Great North Museum. Jarrow Hall, Tynemouth Priory and Castle, St. Mary's Lighthouse, and the National Trust site of Seaton Delaval Hall are all within easy driving distance.
