Roadford Lake, with its sailing, fishing, and visitors' centre, is only 4 miles away, whereas Bude, with its rolling surf, nightlife, and sandy beaches, is only 20 miles away. The RHS Garden at Rosemoor, the Dartington Glass Factory, and Dartmoor's rocky tors and open spaces all offer excellent days out and are all within 40 minutes of each other. If you're visiting Dartmoor, make a point of stopping at the charming moorland villages of Belstone and Sticklepath, which will take your breath away.
