Escape with your loved ones to this charming lodge in a quiet countryside setting just 4 miles outside the lively market town of Stowmarket. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms, this is an ideal accommodation choice for families or groups of friends in search of an elegant cabin to call home while they discover the peaceful Suffolk countryside together. Take a guided tour at Burnt Farm Vineyard (2.5 miles) to learn all about the winemaking process – and then sample the fine wines paired with some artisan cheeses. Alternatively, lose yourself in the atmospheric cobbled streets in Lavenham (10 miles) – with more than 300 listed buildings, it’s known as Britain's best-preserved medieval town. Or set off to explore Thomas Gainsborough’s House (15 miles), the birthplace of the famous painter. Stroll through galleries filled with his works, explore the walled garden and relax in the cafe. Park your car in the private parking area (there’s room for three cars) and head to your lodge’s front door via a gentle ramp. Step inside and you’ll be greeted by a generous hallway where you can store all your outdoor gear. The hallway opens into a rustic-chic open-plan living/kitchen/dining area. Cool, Scandinavian styling abounds in this sociable space, where the walls and ceilings are adorned in light wood panelling. Take a moment to relax on the sofa and soak up the Scandinavian vibe before you head to the bespoke kitchen area to rustle up some dinner. Get everyone together to eat at the stylish dining table, before making a beeline for the sofa to enjoy a glass of wine by the electric flame-effect fire. At the end of the day, you’ll find two beautiful king-size bedrooms (one is a flexible zip-and-link bed) to the rear of the lodge. A sleek family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower, and a wet room with a shower complete the layout. Step out onto the large, wraparound veranda to appreciate the lodge’s peaceful country setting. Wander down to the patio and you’ll find the ultimate outdoor retreat with soft seating, a dining set and a bubbling hot tub.
