Set within the owner’s land, this single-storey property has a unique and uplifting character that combines vibrant colours and patterns, original artworks and an eclectic collection of furnishings. Step straight in to the open-plan living space, which is full of light thanks to large windows and a pale timber floor. Watch birds coming and going among the trees surrounding the cottage or, in the winter, pull down the blinds, light the wood burner, and bask in its warming glow. Your furry friends are welcome to curl up with you on the comfortable sofas, one of which is a sofa bed for flexible sleeping options. Adjacent to the lounge area there’s a dining table large enough for four, and the rustic kitchen is a delightful space for holiday cooking, boasting a gorgeous retro-style fridge/freezer. The king-size bedroom is a calmly beautiful space with ample storage, an en-suite shower room and a door that leads out onto the deck that surrounds the property. This enclosed space is an ideal spot for both humans and pets to admire the lovely views in the fresh air. You’re on the outskirts of the historic town of Ashbourne, with more than 200 listed buildings and a fabulous variety of independent shops. From here you can easily access the spectacular limestone landscapes of the southern White Peak. Head to Carsington Water (8 miles) for water sports and gentle walks, or Matlock Bath, the Victorian spa town (11.5 miles), and the incredible Heights of Abraham, which even includes a Waggy Tails Trail.
