Set in the picturesque village of Dovenby on the outskirts of the Lake District, the property offers cosy accommodation for up to six guests and features a wood burner, wooden flooring and a large garden with tranquil rural views. Midway between the historic market town of Cockermouth and the delightful coastal resort of Maryport, this charming retreat is perfect for walkers, climbers, nature watchers and history buffs discovering the area’s glorious, lakes, mountains and coastline. The bungalow features a light, relaxing lounge with comfortable seating, a Smart TV, a wood burner and views over the garden, making a great space to get together and relax after a fabulous day exploring the Lake District. The handsome dining room is perfect for marking special occasions and for sharing family meals which you can rustle up in the spacious, fully equipped country-style traditional kitchen. There’s also a family bathroom and three tastefully decorated bedrooms: one charming double, a lovely king-size and a cosy bunk bedroom. Outside, the front terrace has a couple of seating areas with ample outdoor furniture, offering a sweet space for dining alfresco and enjoying the views over the large garden. Dovenby has a friendly village pub and is just outside the Georgian market town of Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth and home to a wide variety of great shops, pubs and restaurants (2.5 miles). Heading west, Maryport has a shingle beach, a Roman museum and an aquarium by the bustling harbour (4.5 miles). To the east, you can explore the northern fringes of the Lake District, with Bassenthwaite Lake, the Lake District Wildlife Park and The Lakes Distillery all within 10 miles.
