Rutland Water, with its fishing, walking, bird watching, sailing, and cycling attractions is a must-visit when in the area. Birdwatchers will not want to miss the red kites that regularly frequent the skies. The beautiful Georgian town of Stamford is only 5 miles away where you can explore the variety of shops, pubs, and restaurants, and the market too. On the outskirts is the Elizabethan House of Burghley (8 miles) which is open to the public and where the Burghley Horse Trials are held each September. The classic market town of Oakham is 6 miles away in the opposite direction with beautiful buildings, historic sites, and a range of shops and restaurants including a market on a Wednesday and Saturday. Step through into the beautiful flagstone floored hallway and enter the kitchen. The first thing you will notice is the eye-catching exposed wall and surrounding beams.
