In the welcoming open-plan living area, unwind after a day’s adventures, resting on the sofas and perhaps popping something on the Smart LCD TV and DVD player. The adjacent kitchen area is compact yet functional, while you can enjoy meals at the spacious table in the main area. On warm evenings, you’ll love using the bench at the front of the cottage to take in the sea air. There’s also a small private terrace at the back where you can dine alfresco if the mood takes you.

You’ll find so much to do in this naturally beautiful part of Wales, whether you fancy birdwatching, lying on the beach or trying out water sports such as sailing and surfing. Then lace up and head out to explore the rugged terrain of Snowdonia National Park, perhaps starting with the 10-mile circular hike from Aberdovey to Llyn Barfog, also known as the Bearded Lake.
