Located in the sleepy Cumbrian village of Hayton, this gorgeous home would suit families or friends looking to spend quality time together or celebrate a special occasion. Situated between the Lake District National Park to the south-east and the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the west and north-west, you’ll have the best of coast and country to explore. At the end of a busy day, return home for a home-cooked feast before taking a dip in the hot tub under the starry sky.
Sympathetically restored, timeless décor reflects the property’s heritage, while bright pops of colour and clean lines add contemporary touches throughout. On entering, discard coats and shoes in the hall before heading into the charming lounge, complete with wood burner for those chilly evenings. Across the hall, you’ll find the bright, airy and spacious kitchen/diner, which affords beautiful views through the French doors. Upstairs, there are four beautiful bedrooms all with their own character, and two bathrooms. There is a choice of outdoor spaces to enjoy, including the patio for al fresco dining, the lawns for playing and the hot tub for relaxing.
Despite its quiet location, you’re only 3 miles from Allonby with its long, sandy beach and small range of eateries. Heading 2.5 miles in the opposite direction brings you to the market town of Aspatria. The Georgian town of Cockermouth is 9 miles south. Historic Maryport (6.5 miles) also offers a lovely day out, with its museums, aquarium, lighthouse and range of shops and eateries. Venturing into the Lakes, you can enjoy Bassenthwaite Lake (within 15 miles), which offers stunning views, a wetland nature reserve and its own nesting ospreys.
