Alternatively, make a beeline to Derwentwater to hire a rowing boat for the afternoon, or head to Skiddaw (5 miles) to go for a challenging hike. Step inside this romantic bolthole for two and you’ll discover a welcoming open-plan living area. Bathed in natural light, the ambience is smart yet rustic. Head to the quaint kitchen area, which has a wonderful contemporary cottage-style vibe, and rustle up a romantic meal for two.
