This traditional mid-terrace cottage is the perfect family holiday base in the Brecon Beacons, offering a cosy lounge with a crackling open fire and a large garden lawn that’s sure to delight children and dogs alike. Plus, you’ll find miles of trails to explore right on your doorstep. With a rich history that dates back 200 years, the property is still owned by descendants of the original residents. The lounge/diner is full of character with an exposed stone wall, beamed ceilings and a dining table for six. There’s plenty of sofa space for the whole family to gather around the open fire, whether to watch TV or enjoy the selection of books and games. Leading from the lounge, you’ll find the kitchen, fully equipped for culinary creativity, and a cloakroom completes the ground floor. The first floor, accessible via steep stone stairs, is home to three bedrooms: a king-size, a twin, and a bunk bedroom, providing accommodation for various group make-ups. The family bathroom rounds off the internal layout. Outside, the mature garden is bordered by beautiful original dry-stone walls and surrounded by wild countryside. It’s the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee in the sunshine or unwind at the end of a busy day. Nestled in a peaceful hamlet, the house is located a mile from the welcoming village of Talybont-on-Usk, which has a convenient village shop and several pubs. The Taff Trail cycle route and the Henry Vaughan Trail both run along the valley behind the cottage. Additionally, the picturesque Talybont Reservoir and its dramatic dam are a mile away, offering beautiful scenery and opportunities for outdoor activities. For family-friendly walks, you can explore woodlands and visit the pretty Blaen-y-Glyn waterfalls, 5 miles from home.
