It’s the perfect base for exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park, where you can partake in water sports and fishing in the local rivers, canal and lakes, or head out cycling, trekking, horse riding or mountain biking. If you love scaling mountains, the popular route up Pen-y-Fan (4 miles) is a must for the to-do list. The property is spacious, welcoming and cosy, and with its six bedrooms and seven bathrooms provides plenty of room for larger groups of friends or a multigenerational family trip. This charming family home features a light-filled lounge where you’ll have ample seating, a TV, DVD, flame-effect gas fire and a large selection of books, board games, toys and maps – excellent for a large group of people with varying needs. Locally, you can visit the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh (150 metres), see a film at 1930s-style cinema (0.5 miles) or stroll along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. Brecon is also the start of the Taff Trail, a 55-mile walking and cycling route that takes in railway paths, riverside paths and forest roads.
