Wake up in the king-size bedroom, throw open the French doors and take in the fresh air from the Juliet balcony as you look over the village towards the sea in the distance. Whether you’re off exploring Northam Burrows Country Park (1 mile) or you’re bubbling away in the hot tub in the garden, there’s something for everyone here. The interiors have a quirky contemporary feel with calming pastel colours in every room. The open-plan living area is flooded with light thanks to huge bifold doors looking out to the garden; dine alfresco on the decked terrace on balmy evenings before retiring to the sofas and curling up in front of the wood burner. There are spectacular views from nearly every room in this house, including the second-floor snug/viewing room where you can grab the binoculars to look out over Northam Burrows, the Royal North Devon Golf Club and the sea. When you’ve had enough fun at Westward Ho! beach, enjoy a change of scenery at beautiful Saunton Sands (17 miles) or visit the pretty fishing village of Appledore (2.5 miles). Children will love the rides at the BIG Sheep (3 miles), but if you’ve brought your dog, travel further to the Milky Way Adventure Park (10.5 miles) where the pup can join you. Walk the cobbled streets and court gardens of Clovelly (13 miles) before taking the half-mile walk out of the village to the breathtaking waterfall.
