This comfortable farmhouse is ideal for families, being perfectly located for exploring the wild and beautiful Caithness coast, with walking, cycling, golf and more on your doorstep. The fabulous expanse of sand at nearby Dunnet Bay offers opportunities for sandcastles and paddling as well as birdwatching and surfing. The glorious Castle of Mey offers a fascinating insight into what was once the home of the Queen Mother. Famously the most northerly village in the UK, John o’ Groats offers superb coastal walks and the chance to spot dolphins out at sea. From Scrabster you can take a ferry for the day over to Stromness on beautiful Orkney and have lunch in this historic town. Enter the farmhouse and you will immediately feel welcomed by this home from home. The comfortable lounge with its open fire is a lovely room in which to relax and spend some family time together after a day out in the fresh air, and those of a musical inclination may enjoy a tinkle on the piano. The spacious and well-equipped kitchen with its warming Rayburn and central dining table conveniently leads directly from the lounge. The dual aspect windows provide plenty of natural light and offer lovely views of the fields and sea beyond, making it a delightful spot for a family meal. Also downstairs is a handy utility room, ideal for muddy or sandy footwear, and a simple twin bedroom. Heading upstairs you will find two bright and comfortable double bedrooms both with glorious views, and a bathroom with a shower over bath, hand basin and WC. Outside at the rear of the property there is a lovely lawn that sweeps down towards fields of grazing cows. Wander outside with a drink and take in the beautiful views across farmland to the coast. At the front of the house is a large gravelled driveway with parking for two cars and a small area of lawn edged with mature borders.
