This coastal hideaway for two is in the picturesque village of Llansteffan. You’ll be less than 500 metres from the sandy beach, and within easy reach of the pubs, tearoom, and fish and chip shop in the village. Further afield, you’ll find independent shops and eateries in nearby Carmarthen (7.5 miles). In the evenings, snuggle up by the wood burner or light the BBQ for a beachside supper under the stars. The detached lodge is reached via a rugged, beach track and is decorated in a style to reflect the surrounding landscape. The light and airy lounge/kitchen/diner is the ideal place to relax, with a cosy lounge area set in front of a wood burner and a TV. The colourful kitchen area is a fun space to cook in, with everything needed for a self-catering break, and there’s a sweet dining table for sharing romantic dinners for two. When it’s time for bed, retire to the inviting king-size bedroom. Completing the property is a stylish bathroom. The Wales Coast Path passes through the village, offering miles of unspoilt coastal walking, or you can embark on the popular circular route around the village, via the castle on the hill. This Norman fortress is a must for history enthusiasts, and is another great spot for a picnic with panoramic views as far as Worm’s Head. The town of Carmarthen is a must for the itinerary, with its quirky restaurants, outdoor markets, and art galleries to explore.
