This attractive barn conversion, sitting in peaceful surroundings adjoining the owner’s farmhouse, is ideal for couples looking for a relaxing getaway in South Wales. The property looks out across fields towards the magnificent Three Cliffs. Located in the Gower Peninsula Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you can discover the distinctive natural charm of the local landscapes. Walk three miles through country lanes to reach the golden sands of Three Cliffs and stop by the equally beautiful Pennard Castle (2 miles walking, 4 miles by car), a superb area for wildlife watching. This delightful property with a downstairs and mezzanine level opens into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with a double-height ceiling and character beams. The lounge area has a large comfortable sofa to sink in while watching a favourite movie on the TV. A warming wood burner makes this a romantic retreat any time of the year. The kitchen has all the appliances to make meal preparation a breeze. Head along the hallway, and you’ll find the double bedroom and a ground-floor shower room. If you prefer quiet time to read, there is a mezzanine with restricted head height accessible via a ladder. Access the enclosed garden and patio area from the lounge which has garden furniture and a BBQ, making this the perfect spot for al fresco dining on fine days. If you want to discover the area’s history, then stop in at The Gower Heritage Centre (1 mile) before setting out to explore The Mumbles (7.5 miles) or the stunning Oxwich Bay (5 miles), where you can walk to Oxwich Point or enjoy water sports from the beach. Head over to Rhossili Bay Beach (12 miles) and enjoy spectacular views along the three miles of golden surf, and at low tide, look out for the wreck of the Helvetia.
