2 Bedroom Bed in Little Longstone (44607)

Escape to the countryside in this fabulous barn conversion for four in the heart of the Peak District National Park. The property sits on the edge of the pretty hamlet of Little Longstone and there are some beautiful walks nearby, including along the River Wye and through the Monsal Dale. Further afield, local attractions include Chatsworth House (5.5 miles) and Heights of Abraham (13 miles). The converted, detached barn is full of character, with beautiful exposed beams and a collection of traditional oak furniture and accessories. Enter via the hallway, which doubles up as an alternative seating area, and through to the kitchen/diner. This sociable space has a beamed ceiling and a farmhouse-style dining table to gather around for evening meals, along with everything needed to rustle up delicious feasts. The cosy lounge has a variety of comfortable seating to relax on after a long walk, as well as a roaring wood burner for winter months. A handy shower room completes the ground floor, and the two inviting bedrooms and family bathroom are upstairs. Outside, soak up the peace and tranquillity on the south-facing patio, which is bordered by a traditional dry-stone wall. The picturesque market town of Bakewell is just 3 miles away. Wander amongst Bakewell’s attractive, historic buildings, before popping into one of the many bakeries to sample the town’s much-loved pudding. Pick up some local produce from the farmers’ market, or enjoy a walk across the five-arched medieval bridge and along the River Wye. Another lovely day out can be had in the spa town of Buxton (12 miles), where you can explore the stunning ornamental gardens, sample the thermal waters, and marvel at the limestone show caves.
