Alternatively, head into Well-next-the-Sea (12.5 miles) to stroll along its lively harbour and take a hike along its impressive beach. Or make a beeline for Holkham (13.5 miles), the 18th century Palladian house that’s home to the Earl of Leicester. You can also take a walk along Holkham Beach, which you may recognise from the film, Shakespeare in Love. In the summer, the beach is visited by horses from the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, which hosts an annual regimental camp there.
