Craving sand between your toes? The remarkable Covehithe Beach (2.5 miles) offers a wonderfully unspoiled shoreline accessible only by footpath. Southwold (2 miles) brings a more classic coastal feel, with its brightly painted huts, iconic inland lighthouse and Edwardian pier filled with quirky amusements. Pick up fresh fish on the bustling high street or browse its independent galleries for a unique keepsake. The cottage is ideally placed for wildlife enthusiasts, with Benacre National Nature Reserve (2.5 miles) and the celebrated RSPB Minsmere (12.5 miles) offering exceptional opportunities to spot some of the UK’s rarest birdlife, and it is a bird-watcher’s paradise with annual starling murmuration’s.
