A highlight is Arthur’s Stone, a Neolithic burial chamber perched on the hilltop with views across the valley. For nature lovers and dog walkers, Brobury House (5.5 miles) boasts eight acres of riverside gardens to wander, while the nearby River Wye is ideal for those who fancy trying canoeing or kayaking. Hay-on-Wye (9 miles) invites you to spend a leisurely afternoon browsing world-famous bookshops, sampling its riverside cafes and independent stores along the way.
