Other must-see locations include Louth, especially Lincoln's Bailgate area with its independent stores and coffee shops nestled between the gothic Cathedral and Normal Castle. Woodhall Spa (20 miles), home to a fabulous, heated lido and the quirky Kinema in the Woods. Dating from the mid-18th century, this Grade II-Listed residence sets the scene for an unforgettable gathering of friends and family. Packed with period features while providing all the high-end essentials of contemporary country living, the handsome red-brick hall offers a wealth of spaces where everyone can unwind exactly as they wish. Step through the entrance into the main hall and you’re instantly transported back in time by its wood-panelling, archways and collection of artworks. Two kitchens ensure there’s all you’ll need for large-party food preparation, while the formal dining room is elegant and has elbow space for all. A choice of rooms set the scene for convivial evenings. Huge window seats, panelling and a striking fireplace add to the sense of grandeur in the Drawing Room, the TV Room is warm and cosy and provides a range of on-screen entertainment. The Music Room is a bright and beautiful space and features a Yamaha grand piano to inspire old-fashioned singalongs and performances, while both the Billiards Room and the Library and Board Games Room offer a modern take on the traditional gentlemen’s club ambience. A conservatory and well-equipped games room add further fun opportunities. An additional three cloakrooms offer convenience for all. There are also two bedrooms on the ground floor, each a king-size with its own en-suite featuring both a bath and a shower. One of these is a fully accessible room. In the main manor house you’ll find six dreamy bedrooms all with en-suite bath/shower rooms, including a magnificent master super-king room with its own dressing room and en-suite. The other five bedrooms include two king-size, one double, one twin and one triple room with three single beds. Five more en-suite bedrooms can be found across other parts of the hall, these include a king-size, a double, two twins and a triple room with three single beds. A TV lounge, storerooms, and a children’s play room choc-full of toys with an adjacent kitchen complete the rest of the house. Extensive grounds elevate the luxury – enjoy strolls across the lawns and along woodland paths while the youngsters in your party play five-a-side football, bounce on the trampoline and let off steam on the pirate ship and tyre swing. Several areas offer seating and outdoor dining furniture – fire up the BBQ for al fresco feasts then chill-out in the hot tub; after-dark you may be treated to some stunning star-scapes that overlook the Lincolnshire Wolds.
