A popular farm shop, café and play barn are just 1 mile away, with another farm shop in North Acomb (2 miles) and shops in nearby Stocksfield (5 miles). Discover Hexham with its beautiful Abbey and Sele Park, perfect for a stroll. Head to the Roman town of Corbridge for Hadrian’s Wall, lovely independent shops, cafes and plenty of history. Visits to the Roman Forts and museums at Housesteads and Vindolanda are a must (20 miles). Explore Newcastle’s vibrant city centre for culture, arts and entertainment (15 miles). This attractive and welcoming property is full of original features and character. Step through the front door into the hallway, where you can store your outdoor footwear. Just off the hallway is the first lounge, a cosy, quiet space with comfortable furniture set around the flame-effect electric fire, a lovely spot to read a book or simply unwind. Head back along the hallway to find the well-equipped kitchen and a door leading into the utility room with coat hooks for outdoor wear, laundry facilities and a useful downstairs WC. Two steps lead from the kitchen down to the convivial dining room with an open fire adding to the atmosphere for sociable mealtimes, and a lovely view of the garden from the window seat. After dinner, head through to the main lounge to watch a film on the Smart TV, where the lovely open fire will help you to relax. When it’s time for bed, there are two sets of stairs leading to the first floor. One staircase leads to the first of two king-size bedrooms. The other staircase leads to the second king-size with a Jack and Jill door to the family bathroom, and a twin bedroom featuring a double and a single bed. The family bathroom comprises a shower cubicle and a separate bath. There is an outdoor table and chairs for al fresco dining at the front of the house, as well as a bench seat on the lawned area where you can listen to the birds. For the fitter members of the family, take the stone steps up to find the secret sitting area for wonderfully tranquil sunsets. Parking for three cars is on the gravelled area in front of the house.
