Five-star accommodation awaits in this Coquet Valley cottage, perfectly positioned between Northumberland National Park and the coast, placing adventure at your fingertips in every direction. Lace up your walking boots or hop on a bike to explore the countryside, following the River Coquet, climbing Simonside (6.5 miles) or wandering through Grasslees Wood (13 miles). Just 4 miles away, the much-loved market town of Rothbury offers pubs, gift shops, delis and the magnificent National Trust’s Cragside (3.5 miles). A little further afield, Alnwick (15 miles), Northumberland’s largest town, boasts a world-famous castle with big and small screen credits. For coastal excursions, discover the golden beaches and charming villages of Alnmouth (17 miles), Warkworth (17 miles) and Amble (17.5 miles). Expertly designed by the local artist and owner Marie Stansby, this unique barn conversion is sure to impress the moment you arrive. Step first into the handy boot room, complete with bespoke storage for outdoor gear, before turning left into the open-plan living space. Set beneath double-height vaulted ceilings with exposed wooden beams, the room has instant wow factor. A floor-to-ceiling window floods the space with light and opens directly onto the patio. The kitchen is equipped with quality appliances and quirky painted cabinets, with a breakfast bar and stools for casual dining, while a table is convenient for more intimate, sit-down meals. In the lounge area, Scandi-inspired furnishings, a wood burner, Smart TV and Sonos speaker set the scene for relaxing evenings. Alternatively, retreat to the king-size bedroom for a movie night in bed. Here you’ll find another Smart TV, along with fluffy robes, luxury linens and blackout blinds for restful sleep. The adjoining en-suite bathroom is a sanctuary of its own, complete with a freestanding roll-top bath and walk-in shower. Outside, the garden is a peaceful escape with hidden ‘rooms’ to explore. Step onto the patio for al fresco dining before wandering through wildflower beds, vegetable patches, ponds and intriguing sculptures. Though this area is shared with the owners, privacy is assured. Private parking for one car is provided.
