On the banks of the River Frome, the bustling market town of Dorchester, 12.5 miles away, offers plenty of independent shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as the Dorset Museum and Art Gallery, to explore. Journeying through breath-taking countryside with views to the sea beyond, board the Swanage Heritage Railway to Corfe Castle, 18.5 miles away, to enjoy cliff-top trails along the South West Coast Path and the gloriously golden sands of Swanage Beach (18 miles).
