Walking, hiking and mountain biking are just a few of the activities available nearby, while more adventurous excursions – including skiing, zip-lining, quad biking and water sports – are all accessible within 20 miles. Animal lovers will enjoy a day out at the Highland Wildlife Park (12 miles), while those in search of a wee dram can visit Dalwhinnie Whisky Distillery (6 miles). Munro-baggers will also appreciate the location, with the mighty Ben Macdui – Scotland’s second-highest mountain – within reach. Park at its base (29 miles) and set out on a challenging yet rewarding hike to the summit. After your adventure, head to one of the pubs or restaurants in Kingussie (8.5 miles) or Newtonmore (5.5 miles) to round off your day. Thoughtfully presented in soft, neutral tones with tartan soft furnishings and charming artwork, this recently renovated property is a stylish and welcoming place to unwind. Leave muddy boots and coats in the porch before settling in. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner forms the heart of the home, a sociable space for relaxing and reconnecting, with a wood burner gently crackling in the corner during cosy winter stays. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed for a week of self-catering, and you can choose to dine either indoors or outside. After meals, curl up on the comfy sofas and choose something engaging on the TV to wind down your evening. Upstairs, a king-size room and one twin bedroom await, each thoughtfully decorated. The two rooms are served by a stylish family bathroom. Just outside, you’ll find a private, enclosed patio – furnished and surrounded by glorious Highland views. Head over to the woodshed to collect a shared BBQ for afternoon cookouts. Elsewhere on site, along with private parking, guests can enjoy access to a gym, sauna, games room, golf area, and a mountain biking hub, complete with storage space, cleaning facilities, and bikes and helmets available to borrow.
