Situated on the north side of the River Derwent, the charming village of Seaton offers some beautiful parks and nature reserves to explore, including Seaton Park (1 mile) and Siddick Ponds Nature Reserve (2 miles), home to a variety of wildlife amongst the extensive reedbeds and two large ponds. Uncover the rich local maritime and Roman history at nearby Maryport 5 miles away, which boasts a wonderful array of shops and cafes, as well as an aquarium and a pretty marina. Keen walkers can join some magnificent cliff-top trails along the St. Bees Heritage Coast 15 miles away (the western origin point of Wainwright’s Coast-to-Coast Trail) while those who love life by the water skim stones out to sea at Workington Beach 3.5 miles away.
