This stylish pod offers a serene Welsh escape in the Brecon Beacons National Park. One of a trio of pods in the wooded grounds of a village pub, this rural retreat welcomes two adults and one lucky pup. Located around 2 miles from the market town of Abergavenny, it appeals to walkers and nature lovers with an abundance of walks nearby, including Sugar Loaf Peak and the Offa’s Dyke Pathway. Crafted from bare wood, this dog-friendly pod has a sleek, minimalist charm with wooden floors, LED lights and characterful curved walls. Divided into four small but perfectly formed rooms, it has all the basics for a comfortable stay. The lounge invites you to relax after days roaming picturesque trails, with a comfy sofa, a Smart TV and a wood burner for chilly evenings. The kitchenette has everything you need to prepare and serve simple meals (while the pub offers a full menu if you don’t feel like cooking). When it’s time for bed, get cosy under the covers in the snug double bedroom, while the en-suite shower room offers a refreshing start to each day. Guests benefit from use of a shared garden with picnic tables and tranquil views, and there’s private parking for one car. With a wealth of outdoors activities nearby, this is a dream destination for outdoorsy people. Hillwalkers can ascend Sugar Loaf peak (5.5 miles) or take the wooded trail up The Skirrid (3.5 miles). Mynddu Forest (8 miles) boasts superb mountain biking trails while Llangorse Lake (18 miles) offers a variety of water sports. Abergavenny (2 miles) has developed a reputation as a foodie haven and is close to historic sites such as Llanthony Priory (7.7 miles) and the Blaenavon coal museum (9 miles).
