The area is surrounded by wildlife and the cottage would suit a small family, or be a haven for a group keen to explore Weardale on foot. Myriad mapped walks and trails for mountain bikers start from the front door, while the same can be found at Hamsterley Forest (9.5 miles). Fishing enthusiasts can enjoy casting their rods along a private 0.25-mile stretch of the River Wear (250 metres). Take the four steps up to the entrance of this property.
