The main street is just a short stroll away where you can find a wide variety of shops, friendly pubs and restaurants. If you want to explore the area, there is so much to see and do. You can catch one of the many boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands to see local wildlife such as puffins and seals and you can take a drive along the beautiful coast road to explore Bamburgh village with its magnificent castle, cross the causeway to Holy Island, spend time on the beautiful beach at Beadnell, followed by lunch in one of the great places to eat there, drive a little south to Craster and see the charming harbour and walk the coastal path to Dunstanburgh Castle remains, play golf with breath-taking views and take a beach walk at Low Newton followed by lunch and a drink in the excellent inn which also boasts its own microbrewery! Puffin Cottage has been recently renovated, yet still retains some of its traditional features, such as a narrow corridor off the kitchen where barrels of herring were once rolled from the yard onto carts for transportation. The cottage is set over two floors with the open plan kitchen and dining area and a good size living room on the ground floor. The two bedrooms, one of which has a super-king-size bed and a Smart TV, are located on the first floor, along with the family bathroom on a three quarter landing. The cosy lounge has a log burning stove set in an original stone fire place, the ideal place to relax and plan your holiday adventures. There are two very comfortable sofas, a flat screen TV with Freeview and a DVD player and Wi-Fi. The stove and electric radiators mean the cottage stays warm, whatever the weather.

The cottage is nice and central so that means organising boat trips to the Farne Islands couln’t be easier and you can easily reach Bamburgh’s magnificient castle, glorious beach and pretty village via the stunning coastal path, or simply for more shops, great restaurants and cafes, not to mention the Grace Darling Museum. Walking in the other direction, you will reach Beadnell village with its fabulous beach, bay and harbour and views towards Dunstanburgh Castle. Sample the delights of the 2 excellent pub/restaurants both family and dog friendly or, try the smart Bistro and patisserie before heading back.
