Mill Cottage is a delightful, stone-built, semi-detached cottage set on the Graythwaite Estate in the Lake District National Park. With two bedrooms including one king-size double and one twin, the cottage can sleep four people. There's also a bathroom, a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with gas fire. Outside, there is a garden with patio area and views stretching across the river to Lake Windermere as well as off road parking for three cars plus 5000 acres of estate grounds to wander. With wonderful walks from the doorstep and a host of excellent on-site facilities including a fishing lake, swimming pool and table tennis room, Mill Cottage offers a great base for your getaway.
The picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Cars are banned from the village, leaving visitors free to wander the wealth of tiny alleyways, thoroughfares, archways and courtyards between the whitewashed 17th Century houses. With stunning scenery and numerous attractions within easy touring distance, Hawkshead is in an ideal location at any time of the year.
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shops 4.3 miles, pubs 1.5 miles. Water from private supply, fed from freshwater lake. To avoid disappointment, we recommend booking Graythwaite Adventure X in advance. Graythwaite fishery is free for all guests and equipment can be hired locally, a small fee is applicable to keep your catch, rod fishing license required. Mobile phone signal may be limited due to the location of the property. Please Note: The adjoining mill is disused and should not be entered. Please Note: Although garden is fenced, please ensure children are supervised at all times due to proximity of river. Please Note: An estate tenant resides in the building next door. Please Note: This property is accessed via a 100 metre woodland track.
