Forge is a charming end-terrace cottage set in a central courtyard location on the Graythwaite Estate's extensive grounds, near Hawkshead in Cumbria. With three bedrooms including one double with en-suite and two singles, the cottage can sleep four people. There's also a shower room and an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area complete with a cosy open fire. Outside, there is ample off road parking and a private patio garden with furniture. With thoughtful furnishings and wonderful shared on-site facilities and grounds, including a swimming pool, trout fishing lake and children's play area, plus with the whole of the Lakes at your doorstep, Forge provides a pretty place in which to base yourself for a fantastic Cumbrian getaway.

The picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Cars are banned from the village, leaving visitors free to wander the wealth of tiny alleyways, thoroughfares, archways and courtyards between the whitewashed 17th Century houses. With stunning scenery and numerous attractions within easy touring distance, Hawkshead is in an ideal location at any time of the year.

Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Shared use of estate grounds and facilities inc. indoor heated swimming pool, table tennis room (please bring your own racquets and balls), children's play area, 2.5-acre trout fishing lake. Two well-behaved pets welcome as of the 1st November 2020. Sorry, no smoking. Shops 4 miles, pubs 2 miles. Water from private supply, fed from freshwater lake. To avoid disappointment, we recommend booking Graythwaite Adventure in advance. Graythwaite fishery is free for all guests and equipment can be hired locally, a small fee is applicable to keep your catch, rod fishing license required. Mobile phone signal may be limited due to the location of the property. Please Note: This property has a £100 Good Housekeeping Bond. The swimming pool can be booked for 45 minute private sessions, All guests can pre-book up to a maximum of 3 swimming slots ( or 2 slots for short stays 2 and 3 nights ) 7 days prior to arrival by contacting estate@graythwaite.com
