You can take part in a fantastic selection of watersports at Folkestone’s sandy beach, including sailing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. The town’s second beach is much rockier and a great spot for birdwatching, wildlife lovers and fossil hunting! Explore parts of the 153 mile-long North Downs Way National Trail, which leads from Farnham to Canterbury and past the White Cliffs of Dover through the Kent Downs AONB and Surrey Hills. Within an hour you can visit Dover Castle and Chartwell, home to Sir Winston Churchill, or spend the day perusing the pretty cobbled streets and interesting shops of Canterbury.
