Take a walk along the South West Coast Path from the beach to Wembury Point where there are magnificent views across the bay towards the infamous Mewstone, an angular and imposing offshore island dominating the bay, with steep barren slopes reflecting its dark past as a smuggler’s sanctuary and prison. Wembury village with its pretty church offers excellent local amenities including a village shop, pub, café and Wembury marine centre. Nearby Bovisand beach is a sheltered bay of yellow sand with cliffs either side, popular with locals and families and famous for its diving wrecks and home to some fantastic marine life.
