Explore the craggy cliff-tops, beaches and secret coves or absorb the dramatic views of the Bow Fiddle Rock, or look out for the dolphins, seals and sea birds that live in the Moray Firth. National Cycle Route 1 also passes through Portknockie. Why not visit the delightful town of Cullen, situated beneath spectacular railway viaducts and renowned for its hearty Cullen Skink (smoked haddock and potato soup) or enjoy a spot of golf at the remarkable golf course? Take a pleasant drive to the lively market town of Elgin, home to an imposing cathedral, museums and the mesmerising Biblical Gardens. Travel east where you will find the historic town of Banff home to an excellent golf club and the fascinating nearby Inchdrewer Castle. With the whole of the Moray Coast to explore, with its Whisky and Castle Trail, abundance of historic houses and gardens, sparkling golden sands and hospitable inns, this is a superb base from which to enjoy the delightful north east coast of Scotland.
