The bedrooms consist of a king-size and a single bed. There is a bathroom with a corner bath, handheld shower, walk-in shower, heated towel rail, basin, and WC. You'll find a shop in 0.3 miles, pub in 3.3 miles, and river in 0.8 miles. WiFi, fuel, power, starter pack for woodburning stove, bed linen, and towels are included in the rent. The small Cumbrian village of Kirkby Thore is situated within easy driving distance of both Appleby-in-Westmorland and Penrith, due to it being close to the A66. Kirkby Thore sits on the site of a Roman cavalry camp, with amongst other items, Roman coins, sandals and urns having been found in the area. Today, the village offers a church, a shop with Post Office, a bistro/pub and a petrol station. The historic town of Appleby-in-Westmorland is located in the loop of the River Eden, in the heart of the Eden Valley. Appleby is a major stop on the Settle-Carlisle Railway and every June the town plays host to a three hundred-year old Horse Fair. Also within reach is the bustling market town of Penrith, which was once the capital of Cumbria. The town offers a number of specialist shops, sandstone buildings, attractive cottages and gardens, along with a wide choice of pubs and restaurants. With wonderful Ullswater, the Lake District National Park and even the Yorkshire Dales National Park to visit, Kirkby Thore makes a convenient base for exploring the area.
