Thwaite How consists of a kitchen with electric oven, halogen hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and a dishwasher, a dining room with seating for six guests and a sitting room with a Smart TV and open fire. The bedrooms consist of two doubles and a bunk, serviced by a bathroom and a cloakroom. Outside there is an enclosed rear garden with lawn, gravelled area and furniture, and off-road parking for one car is available, as well as additional parking the nearby car park a short walk away. Within 6.3 miles, you will find a shop, within 1 mile, pub and within 0.1 miles, the River Derwent and please note that two well-behaved pets are welcome but sorry, no smoking. WiFi, fuel, power, starter pack for open fire, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. A travel cot and highchair are also available. Thwaite How is a charming base for your next retreat to Cumbria. Note: There are open-tread stairs leading up to the first floor, please take care.

Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
