Two times a week, the town has a sizable market that has been going on for more than 450 years. The East of England's most imposing monument, an exquisite 14th-century church, is surrounded by a network of mediaeval lanes with a fair assortment of individual and chain stores outside the market. It is worthwhile to climb to the top of the church on a clear day to take in the breath-taking views of the wash and Lincoln Cathedral.
